Add a crisp stroke so a dark logo still reads on dark photos — perfect for stickers.
Unreleased rebrands and client logos never leave your device.
A screenshot, JPG export or photo of printed material all work.
Use Erase for leftover specks and a negative Edge shift to remove halos.
Keep PNG or WebP to preserve transparency; add an outline if you need contrast.
Logos with a baked-in white box look unprofessional on colored website headers, video overlays and presentation slides. A transparent PNG lets the background show through around the shapes, so the logo sits naturally on any design.
Ideally you'd use the original vector file (SVG, AI or EPS). When it's lost — or you only have a JPG from an old email — removing the background is the quickest way to a usable file.
Logos saved as JPG often have a faint light or dark fringe where the edge was blended with the old background. Shrinking the mask by one or two pixels with a negative Edge shift removes it cleanly.
For logos with holes — the inside of an “O” or an “A” — check that the AI removed the background there too. If not, the Erase brush with high hardness clears it in a stroke or two.
The export keeps your original resolution. For the sharpest result, start from the largest copy of the logo you have.
No — the tool exports raster images (PNG, JPG, WebP). For print and very large sizes, a vector file is still the best choice.
In the Refine panel, set Edge shift to −1 or −2. This contracts the outline slightly and removes the light fringe left by the old background.
